President  - Sean Weir

Sean served in both the United Kingdom and United States career Fire Services. He was as a career fire-fighter in both the Royal Air Force and Greater Manchester Fire Services. After retiring from the West Haven Fire Department, Sean has transitioned to now serve his fellow Responder community in Connecticut. 

​

First experiencing Yoga and Mindfulness through the Uniformed Services Program, Sean became particularly interested in mind-body practices that combined the benefit of Eastern wisdom with Western evidence-based research. 

​

Certified Mindful Yoga Therapy (MYT) 100 Hours for Veterans, Trauma, Adaptive and MYT Resilience, Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga from Kripalu School of Integrated Yoga Therapy as well as a Kripalu and Sierra Club Military Mindful Outdoor Leader/Guide. Sean is an Advanced Teacher (300 Hour) Yoga for Everybody Teacher as well as a certified Restorative Yoga, Veterans Yoga Project (VYP), Connected Warriors, Warriors at Ease, Prison Yoga Project (PYP), Yoga4 CancerYoga for Recovery (Y-12 SR), iRest Integrated Restoration Yoga Nidra Meditation and 108 Monkeys Yoga for urban youth and underserved communities Teacher. Sean is particularly grateful for each opportunity to share these practices with others.

Program Manager  - Alistair Sweeney

Alistair served in the New Zealand Army for over a decade in various combat oriented, leadership and training roles that included active duty tours to East Timor and Afghanistan. 

​

After leaving the military Alistair found Yoga a great way to heal the tension in his body after years of harsh physical activity. As he continued to practice Yoga and Mindfulness, Alistair also became aware of the significant benefit of these practices for providing a greater sense of mental and emotional wellbeing.

 

Alistair is a certified 200 hour, Trauma-Conscious, Restorative Yoga, Veterans Yoga Project (VYP), Connected Warriors, Warriors at Ease, VEToga and Mindful Yoga Therapy (MYT) 100 Hour Teacher as well as Sierra Club Military Outdoor Guide.
